After floating in space for 57 years, Lt. Ripley's (Sigourney Weaver) shuttle is found by a deep space salvage team. Upon arriving at LV-426, the marines find only one survivor, a nine year old girl named Newt (Carrie Henn). But even these battle-hardened marines with all the latest weaponry are no match for the hundreds of aliens that have invaded the colony. We're celebrating Alabama native Michael Biehn in one of his greatest roles, as Cpl. Hicks in James Cameron's masterful horror/sci-fi sequel, to commemorate its 40th anniversary.
Through first-person accounts and searing archival footage, this documentary tells the story of the local movement and young Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee (SNCC) organizers who fought not only for voting rights, but for Black Power in Lowndes County, Alabama.

In a tiny Alabama town with the curious name of Muscle Shoals, something miraculous sprang from the mud of the Tennessee River. A group of unassuming, yet incredibly talented, locals came together and spawned some of the greatest music of all time: “Mustang Sally,” “I Never Loved a Man,” “Wild Horses,” and many more. During the most incendiary periods of racial hostility, white folks and black folks came together to create music that would last for generations and gave birth to the incomparable “Muscle Shoals sound.”

Are you eager to relive your youth by basking in the retro glow of outdated media formats? Are you curious about the video store era that you missed out on by being cursed with a late birth? Then join Jeremy Burgess of the Dust On The VCR newsletter for Tape Night, a free quarterly event where you'll get to witness an actual VHS tape projected onto the big screen in all its glory! The titles will remain a mystery until showtime, and the genres will rotate with every screening (check the graphic for hints!), but one thing's for certain: You won't find these classics in splendid low-definition anywhere else in town. *This is a free event. Reservations are strongly recommended but not required. SEATING IS FIRST COME, FIRST SERVED.*
