- Catherine Wright will present “Torture: All the Cool Kids are Doing it. But Why?” as a post-screening discussion following the film. Film Synopsis: In 1961, famed social psychologist Stanley Milgram conducted a series of radical behavior experiments that tested ordinary humans' willingness to obey authority. Catherine holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the College of Charleston and a Master of Arts in Anthropology from the University of Alabama. She has been a professor of anthropology at Jefferson State Community College since 2010. Her fieldwork in Fiji focused on ethnoarchaeology, and her thesis research examined bone fracture patterns. Her interests also include behavioral economics, primate evolution, travel, food and wine, and ethnographic film. Oh yeah, and she's also the Director of Development at Sidewalk. The Science on Screen® grant initiative brings science to cinemas nationwide by pairing current and classic films with expertise from the world of science, technology, and medicine.
