- For this special edition of SHOUT Movie Night, please join the Sidewalk Film Festival programmers for an exclusive Sneak Peek of what's coming up for the SHOUT LGBTQ+ line-up at the 28th Annual Sidewalk Film Festival! Come early for Happy Hour at the bar starting at 5:00pm, Sneak Peek at 7:00pm, and To Wong Foo, Thanks for Everything! Julie Newmar! at 7:30 PM. Film Synopsis: Manhattan drag queens Vida Boheme and Noxeema Jackson impress regional judges in competition, securing berths in the Nationals in Los Angeles. When the two meet pathetic drag novice Chi-Chi Rodriguez — one of the losers that evening — the charmed Vida and Noxeema agree to take the hopeless youngster under their joined wing. Soon the three set off on a madcap road trip across America and struggle to make it to Los Angeles in time.
- SHOUT Movie Night is a film series presented and curated by BAO (Birmingham AIDS Outreach) in conjunction with Sidewalk Film Center + Cinema. Our goal is to offer a diverse and inclusive film series that ensures all members of our community are represented.*This is a FREE event and SEATING IS FIRST COME, FIRST SERVED. Registering is strongly recommended to help with the check in process but does NOT GUARANTEE A SEAT, and due to the popularity of this event seats can not be saved for anyone who has not arrived.*
*All Wednesday screenings are captioned if made available by the distributor.
*Films will usually have an average of 8-10 minutes of trailers before each screening.
*Seating is general admission. Arrive early to screenings if you want to ensure everyone in your group sits together.
*No outside food or beverages. We have a full bar and concessions in the cinema, and anything purchased from there can be taken into the theatre.
