THE SCREENTALK SERIES is a year long film and discussion initiative designed to stimulate conversation.

April 18, 2017: Obit

How do you put a life into 500 words? Ask the staff obituary writers at the New York Times. OBIT is a first-ever glimpse into the daily rituals, joys and existential angst of the Times obit writers, as they chronicle life after death on the front lines of history.

The film will be followed by a panel presentation with writer Jeff Burson, Dr. Clay Carey and Dr. Julie Williams from Samford University, and Dr. Jennifer Greer from the University of Alabama.

Hosted at Carrigan’s Public House
2430 Morris Ave
Birmingham, AL 35203
Event Space is upstairs.
