The Sidewalk Film Center + Cinema is a beautiful, 11,400 square foot facility conveniently located in The Pizitz Building, in the heart of downtown Birmingham’s historic theatre district. The venue offers two state-of-the-art theaters (one is fully equipped to host hybrid meetings and live stream events), one multi-function room, two attractive lounges, and a large bar area.
Sidewalk offers three ways for groups or individuals to have screenings or events in our theaters, lab and/or lobby –
• Community Partnerships : partnership screenings with fellow nonprofits that speak to both of our missions
• Screen Share : reduced rate rentals for non-profit groups

Please read our guidelines before you submit a proposal. Please note that Community Partnership events may not be used as fundraisers or serve as pre- or post-events for any fundraising functions occurring the same day.

Screen Share is Sidewalk’s discounted rental program for non-profit organizations looking to use our theaters and other spaces for events that do not qualify for the Community Partnerships program.
Screen Share events can be booked Monday- Wednesday only. Please note that there is limited availability for Screen Share, and our capacity for occupancy is subject to change in compliance with public health directives and concerns.
