The Final Year is a unique insiders account of President Barack Obama’s foreign policy team during their last year in office. Featuring unprecedented access inside the White House and State Department, The Final Year offers an uncompromising view of the inner workings of the Obama Administration as they prepare to leave power after eight years.

Quang Do: As a 2016 White House Champion of Change and National Conference Race on Ethnicity (NCORE) Caucus Chair, Quang is a nationally recognized educator, artist and advocate for inclusive arts education. Having previously served as an Advocacy and Policy Manager for a local non-profit and as a Student Affairs Practitioner at UAB and through his role as founder of the UAB College Democrats, he led door-to-door and phone banking campaigns throughout Alabama, North Carolina, and Florida as a field director for President Obama’s 2012 re-election campaign. He currently serves as an Individuals and Societies Instructor at the Jefferson County International Baccalaureate school and believes that change happens through intentional community building.
Renato Corbetta: Renato Crobetta is an associate professor of Political Science and the director of the International Studies program at UAB. Dr. Corbetta’s areas of expertise include International Relations and Political Methodology with a concentration in international security issues, conflict management, and foreign policy.
