As opposed to our discussion-based “Sidewalk Salon” Sidewalk Salons the Tech and Technique Workshops will be focused on providing hands-on experience in a workshop format. Tech and Techniques will take place quarterly.
Coming October 2014:
Zombie Make-Up Workshop
Want to know how to make a great zombie for your next horror film (or Costume Contest)? Our next Tech and Technique event is a zombie makeup workshop to be led by make-up artist Brandy Hyche. We’ll focus on zombie makeup tips for film, but the same techniques will also work for haunted houses or just dressing up (like a pro) for Halloween. Registration for a pair (makeup artist and model) is $30. If you want to keep your makeup kit from the workshop, registration is $40. Things get messy when you’re dealing with the undead, so dress accordingly, and join us for an afternoon of zombifying fun!
Brandy Hyche has worked with special effects makeup for 21 years, including work at haunted houses. More recently she has done makeup for Candy Apple Costumes in Tuscaloosa as well as the Zombie Run. Her first film project was ZOM-COM, a University of Alabama production that is screening at the 2014 Sidewalk Film Festival.
